Washington High School’s 2009-2010 was featured in the Ideas That Fly, a trade publication of Herff Jones, a company that publishes many yearbooks throughout the United States. The trade publication is a book that the company puts out, which yearbook classes pay for to look at in order to get new ideas. Ideas That Fly features yearbooks from junior highs, high schools, and colleges. The best examples of yearbooks are chosen each year. Washington had to submit pages each month to Herff Jones and work with representatives throughout the year.
Washington’s yearbook was the only school in Fremont that was featured in Ideas That Fly. The yearbook was chosen due to its excellent cover and continuous theme of details about Washington High School. Many high schools in the district work with Herff Jones, but only Washington’s yearbook was chosen as an example.
“I have a really creative group of students and I work with them to create ideas,” said yearbook teacher Audrey Woodsmith.
Woodsmith recognizes students Natalie Sanchez (12), Brittany Kinney (11), Nikole Milton (12), and Britney Leinweiber (12) for helping to create the theme.
