The Thanksgiving Rally, which was supposed to take place on Nov. 18, was canceled due to the weather reports that reported rain.
It was scheduled for the Friday before students went to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving and Black Friday. The weather reports reported it was going to rain, but it did not shower until school was let out.
Last year there were activities like pinning the feathers on the turkey, pumpkin pie eating and the recently added turkey bowl. The rally may not have called in as much of the student body as other events, but it did send the attendees into break with the feeling of the holiday.
“Usually the rallies bring us together, but since the rally was canceled, it’s a disappointment we didn’t put the students in a Thanksgiving mood,” senior Darra Lannigan, who was in charge of the rally, said.

November 19, 2010. There was a small gathering for Thanksgiving at the amphitheater during lunch time on November 19. There were a lot of things going on, like the pie eating contest, bowling, and pin a feather on the turkey. Everyone who was there seemed to having a good like participating in the activities or just watching their friends and cheering them on.
The rally started with rounds of pie eating contest (pumpkin pie, of course and you can’t forget the whipped cream. Which by the way looked and were delicious (I would know, I was a contestant and a winner. Go me!). After a few rounds of the delicious food, there was a bowling game, which consisted of knocking down the pins with a football. Following this activity was the pin the feather on the turkey, which consisted of blind folding the contestant, spinning them around and hoping that someone manages to pin the feather on the turkey.
This fun filled period ended as the bell rang and students went to their two last peirod before the week-long break.
