The Journalism class through Mr. Skillings has listed several projects on Chevron funded most of two projects in the fall of 2011, and ABC Family and DonorsChoose supplied matching funds to allow individual donors to double their donation. Those efforts funded another two projects. You can see what we’re up to next on Mr. Skillings’s Donors Choose Teacher site.

In November 2011, the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) selected Mr. Skillings as one of the recipients of a $250 Teacher Grant to increase innovation and creativity in the classroom. The grant covered a large portion of the cost of another camcorder.

Mr. Skillings is a 2011 recipient of a Fremont Education Foundation Innovative Education Grant. The $3,000 grant paid for an iMac computer and 2 Canon Vixia camcorders for the use of the digital Journalism class to produce WHTV News.
