On Oct. 11, 2011 seniors assembled in the school library during read period to learn about college and scholarship applications.  Although it may look like seniors are having a lot of fun with their senior activities, many are extremely busy taking their next big step and applying for college.  Students were able to gain a lot of information and advice that will better their knowledge of exactly how the college application process works.  Career specialist, Ms. Wittmer, and counselor, Carol Brahmst, demonstrated to students all the procedures one must go through to apply to a college, and receive scholarships.  Brahmst discussed many topics including online common application, secondary school reports, letters of recommendation, transcript requests, and much more.

“Our goal is to get through to students of the many steps there are when engaging in college,” said Wittmer.  Seniors appeared to be very interested, as several asked further questions after the lecture was over.  Senior Ryan Walla really enjoyed attending this event saying, “It was very informative, now I actually get what I am supposed to do for my applications.”
