The varsity girls softball team finished second in league (11-8) with a league record of 9-3. Towards the end of the season the lady Huskies were hitting a four-game win streak after defeating Irvington, Newark Memorial, Kennedy and International Studies Academy. The only team ranked above Washington was James Logan (19-4). The Huskies lost to Logan both times this season, 3-10 and 2-4.
The North Coast Section (NCS) is still deciding the seeds for playoffs, but there is high hopes for Washington.
The seniors on the team stepped up to the plate this season, displaying good leadership and encouragment to the underclassmen. With only three graduating seniors and off-season training, the young team is expected to dominate next season. Washington is a favorite for winning league in 2011.
