Gymnastics captain senior Lindsay Wilhite has been participating in gymnastics on and off since she was six years old. Wilhite is the only member of the team performing in the elite division. She has never competed in organized competitions outside of school but took classes to help with her skills and techniques. Wilhite’s most memorable moment was when she completed landing on the kip bars. Her secret for success is to “take risks and see if they work out.” Wilhite does not intend to continue gymnastics after high school.

Junior Jasmine Magallanes may seem shy and timid, but you’d be surprised. Magallanes started martial arts at a young age, and has since won several national and world titles. Magallanes started gymnastics as a sophomore, but was not able to finish the season due to her busy martial arts and school schedule.

“Sleep is key to my success because if I didn’t get a lot of sleep I usually wouldn’t perform as well the next day,” Magallanes said.

Magallanes’ most memorable moment was also landing on the kip bars during MVALS finals. Magallanes plans on participating in gymnastics next year.
