Senior Kaley Marden, offensive team MVP and first team all-league of the season, finished her high school water polo career on a high note. Her season highlight was at the Silver Cup Shootout tournament in Reno, Nevada, when she scored a goal with a backhand shot into the corner.

“I think it’s important to just have fun and stay relaxed [during games],” Marden said.

Marden started playing water polo freshman year, when Anatomy teacher Michelle Keller encouraged her to play. Marden does not intend to play for any club or college team.

Senior Breana Meagher, defensive team MVP, was also named first team all-league.

To prepare for an upcoming game, Meagher visualizes her goals beforehand and “tries to be as goofy as possible to keep spirits up.” She attributes a huge part of her success to Coach Cameron Brahmst.

Meagher has played water polo for five years and with Ohlone polo. She plans to continue playing if she decides to attend a state college.
