Junior Konami Yokoyama, right-side hitter for the girls volleyball team, led the Huskies with 193 season kills, 37 aces and 14 blocks.

Yokoyama was introduced to the sport eight years ago when her older sister took interest. Her parents, on the other hand, were more into basketball. Yokoyama played for the Japanese National training team before moving to America in 2008, and currently plays volleyball for the school team and the City Beach club team.

After the season ended, Yokoyama proudly stated that she grew an inch since September and now stands a towering 6 feet 2 inches tall. Despite her recent move from Japan, Yokoyama did not have as much of a language barrier with her teammates than she had anticipated.

Yokoyama has been recruited by a throng of elite colleges, such as Columbia University, Stanford University, University of California Berkeley, University of California Irvine, University of California Los Angeles and University of Pennsylvania. She has not committed herself to any college, but intends to major in international business affairs.
