When Coach Ken Wittmer was asked who the MVP of the football season was, he wasn’t able to pick just one player. He chose captains quarterback David Ross and tight-end Cedric Louisi. Both boys are the only two players in the MVAL to make it to the NCS all-star game.
Ross has been playing football since he was eight years old.
“I loved playing at the park so I thought the real thing would be just as fun,” Ross said.
This season, Ross had 97 carries for 496 yards and scored nine rushing touchdowns. In addition, he led MVAL in passing with 1,363 yards, 17 touchdowns and completed over half of his passes. Ross credits his success to hard work and the will to win. He plays safety on defense. Ross plans on continuing his football career in college.
Louisi plays on both sides of the ball: tight end and defensive end, and was ranked top ten in receiving in the league with 16 receptions, 213 yards and six touchdowns.
“Cedric’s one of the main reasons we got this far.” Ross said.
Lousi is currently being recruited by San Jose State and BYU among other universities. Ross and Louisi were leaders of the team that led Washington into the semi-finals of the NCS playoffs, somewhere the Huskies have not been to in over 30 years.
