The girls tennis team played at the James Logan Invitational Sept. 11, and came out fifth place after playing against school’s from around the Bay Area. However, after losing the most anticipated game of the season so far to James Logan Oct. 6 with a score of 2-5, Coach Matt Brabahm felt disappointed about the outcome. Coach Brabahm felt that the team performed exceptionally well in their match against American High School, but they did not show their full potential against James Logan High School. “[Our team has] a lot of talent, and I am very disappointed because as it stands now, we are going into our fifth game, and I don’t think we lived up to our possibilities,” Brabahm said. In 2006, the Huskies won both matches against James Logan. They split the games in 2007 and were disapointed twice with losses in 2008. According to Brabahm, this season, the team has solid mechanics and the girls have what it takes to win, and they are ready to take control over the courts. “We played as hard as we could [against Logan], but fell short and lost concetration,” junior Ruby Miu said.
