Trees complaints prove empty

With Christmas on the horizon, ASB is launching a Christmas tree fundraiser. The fundraiser may be considered unethical in terms of its effects on the environment.

The Christmas trees aren’t located in a secret haven situated in the heart of the rain forest, where they might serve as homes to adorable sloths. The school doesn’t chop the trees down by killing the trees’ natural protectors and using their remains to fuel the chainsaws of hate. Instead, the school acquires the trees from Oregon, where they are farmed for the sole purpose of being cut.

Complaining about the use of Christmas trees for Christmas can be compared to complaining about eating turkeys on Thanksgiving. Both are natural resources traditionally used for a holiday. People may say that turkeys can be eaten and have a practical use in contrast to the Christmas trees, but the trees can serve as firewood for the long winter after Christmas.

People claim the use of plastic trees as a remedy to the genocide of fir trees, saying that they are more practical because they are reusable. However, the effects of plastic trees can be more detrimental in the long run.
