Fashion Club looking for members

December 23, 2009

Washington High School has a new Fashion Club. Sophomore Sierra Barisione started it so students would have a place to discuss and compare different styles. They talk about their favorite styles and help to anticipate those of the next season.

The club is fairly new, so it is focusing on drawing in more members in order to more realistically plan projects and events. Among the potential projects is a field trip to San Francisco’s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). Depending on the number of members, the club also considering a fashion show. While the club is for fun, the Fashion Club officers hope to also broaden their knowledge of the fashion world.

“It’ll be fun, ’cause you’re learning about what you like. I’m president, but I don’t know everything,” said Barisione.

She, along with her fellow Fashion Club officers, meet every Tuesday at lunch in English teacher Aliza Selinger’s class room.
