Kids are not the only ones who find enjoyment out of pulling tricks on other individuals. Drama teacher Matthew Ballin exchanged an April Fool’s Day prank with his first period students.

Ballin rushed all of the students into the back room behind the stage, reminding them to take their belongings. As people came late to class, they noticed the classroom was empty. Ballin informed them that there was an assembly in the gym, and the rest of the class was already attending it. When the tardy students figured out that they had been tricked, they returned to the classroom. Ballin ushered them into the back room with the rest of the class to await the remaining tardy students.

“I was late to class, and [Ballin] told me that the rest of the class was at a Microsoft assembly in the gym, and that there was food and games,” senior Sean Devine said.

Two students thought it would be funny if they took revenge on Ballin with a prank of their own. Later that period, juniors Mohammad Khalil and Nazeer Majeed created a loud crash by dropping textbooks on the ground, and acted as though someone had broken Ballin’s piano. It was recently fixed and tuned for the upcoming school play, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

After Majeed and Khalil revealed that it was an April Fool’s joke, even Ballin admitted it was a good prank.
