The spring production, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, was an idea that started in the Performing Arts Club last year. The club repeatedly requested to do it. Drama teacher Matthew Ballin eventually decided it was a good choice for the spring production.

Although he was not originally sure about doing a spring musical, Ballin decided on it after he saw the enthusiasm for the play in his Performing Arts Club.

“It’s a good musical for a time when things are complicated and stressful with simple things that remind us of simple things,” Ballin said.

This production has been supported by many people just to get it on stage. The whole Performing Arts Club supports this production. The makeup design, props, set, and costumes are all made by Ballin’s sixth period Stage Production. The class constructed Snoopy’s doghouse from scratch as well as many other props.

“I liked the cartoon Charlie Brown. I’ve been working on costumes for the characters with my group. It’s been really fun to design the costumes and give them a unique touch,” junior Natasha Hill said. Hill is in the sixth period Stage Production.

You’re a Good Man Charlie Browncan be found on Facebook with a complete list of performances, times, and where it takes place. It opens Thursday, April 30 and will have performances every Thursday and Friday until its closing on Saturday May, 16. All performances are at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria.
